Goals
My personal goals in the short team are to become more confident with my photography and build up my portfolio so that I can have a strong collection of work to show. My long team goal is the travel the world show people what is happening in other countries I want to document what charities are doing to help those in need. This is because I have always been interested in other culture and other peoples thought on them so becoming a documentary photographer or a photojournalist would be my main goal. What I want from my studies is to build on my skills as a photographer. Also to expand on my knowledge in the photography world, at the end of my studies I hope to have a portfolio that will show the extent of my work and a chance to have a career in my chosen field. The part of the photography industry that I am aiming for is photojournalism or documentary photography. I would like to travel while document what other cultures are like. After studying photography at university I have no other planes to do any further education at the moment but this might change in the future. My goals for my career is to document other cultures but I want to document what charity work is doing for these cultures since I would also like to help out with charity while documenting what is happening and what they have done. What I want to achieve in my career is to try to change people’s view of the world this is because I have never really understood why no one cannot fight I want people to understand others
Reality
In reality there are a lot of challenges that I need to meet and other come one of them is my shyness I don’t always feel confident enough to just go and photograph people in the streets. To be honest I have none done as much as I should have, I have become more confident with my camera when I am using it my photograph. I do expect to meet other challenges for example I will need to build my portfolio that will help to attract the jobs that involve documentary photography. The steps that I need to achieve my goal are, build up a strong portfolio that show my interesting documentary photography and other cultures, I also need to have more of a understanding in what in need to do to et too my goal. My short team priority is to finish university with the grades that I want, my medium priority is to travel the world while trying to help others and my long term priority is to help other to understand other cultures and also to help with how people see each over. I would like to developed my photography skills in the way that I need to developed my communication skill while I am photographing other people, this is also a skill that I need to develop because you can’t be a documentary photography when your too shy to talk to the people you want to photograph.
Options
Over than documentary photography other culture around the world another option would be to document what charities do for others, kind of like showing others what the charity does, ether way I know that I want to do documentary photography I do enjoy doing other forms of photography but I find documenting things around me satisfying because I get to see the world in a new way. I don’t really have any other options that I have thought of. I think knowing another photography that has a great career in documentary photography and getting some helpful advice on how I can build up my own career. I currently volunteer at a charity shop and it does help me to become more confident when talking to strangest it has also given an insight to how the charity is run and how it helps people. I should be promoting myself through social website that can get people’s attention to what i am doing
