Personal branding- how to build you personal brand

With  a personal brand, people recognize and care about your name, what you’re working on, what you offer, and what you’re about.

Image- don't reach for any publicity  there is such a thing as bad publicity. You want people to take you seriously and you want to have a clean reputation. Avoid doing publicity stunts with obvious risks, or doing bad things in order to get attention for example teachers, nurses and so on do not tend to post their drunken nights out they keep their professional and personal life's clean. so when talking about personal branding with photography, it depend what you do or believe in photography tries to reach certain people.

Values- your personal brand is built from the thoughts and words and reactions of other people, it’s shaped by how you present yourself publicly. This is something that you have control over. You can decide how you would like people to see you and then work on publicly being that image. Values are the easiest thing to present and have people identify with

promoting  yourself

Communicate with people openly and constantly. Embrace this age of social media and let everyone into your life. Run a blog or website that is all you. It doesn't matter if it’s not your first priority, or even your second priority, but it gives people a place to develop a stronger connection with you.

Have a website. Everyone has a website now. It's an important part of getting taken seriously in the business and general work world. Make a website that functions as a sort of long-form resume, showcasing what you're about and all of the cool things you've done.

succeeding long term

Keep your brand fresh. You don't want people to see you as dated, a one-hit-wonder, or boring and repetitive. No matter how good your content is, you'll risk seeming stale and repetitive if you don’t continue adding new elements to your brand or take on new challenges.

Personal Branding

A ‘personal brand’ is in many ways synonymous with your reputation. It refers to the way other people see you as a business owner or representative of an idea, organization, or activity. I have never really thought about my personal branding.

CVs examplies

After  the professional practice and self promotion presentation and thinking about my own CV  I thought that I should create a photography CV so that I could send it to professionals for a job or assistant opportunities, before I write my own a CV I decided that I could do with some examples so I went on the internet and found some great examples of photography CV's.

http://daisywarejarrett.com/2011/11/10/examples-of-photography-cvs/

http://design.spotcoolstuff.com/print-design/job-career/creative-resumes

The examples above are interesting because they show a photo as a faded background. Having a photo on the CV will attract employers attention because it would show them what the photographer can do before they look at a portfolio. The only problem I have with these examples is that the photo could maybe distract the employer from the the CV actually says.

The two examples above are two very interesting CV because they are quite eye catching which an employer would most definitely be looking at. I don't think I would have my CV like them as they seem to be over the top for my liking but an employer might like this.

This example is quite simply but it does work in the way that it shows the employer  that this person is a photographer and has some experience, its easier to read since their is not much to distract the employer from reading whats on the CV but it still shows what the photographer can do before looking at the portfolio.
